FAST FOOD OPTIONS IN DOWNTOWN NAPERVILLE: Sometimes even “Foodies” need fast food.

Downtown Naperville has lots of locally-owned restaurants that we have reviewed. It also has lots of chain fast-food restaurants. And as much as we love our locally owned favorites... sometimes even “Foodies” need fast food.

Burger King Address: 506 South Washington St Phone: (630) 717-1261 DRIVE-THRU HOURS: 6:00 am - 12:00 am RESTAURANT HOURS: 6:00 am - 10:00 pm $

Every day, more than 11 million guests visit over 13,000 Burger King in 97 countries around the world. And they do so because our fast food restaurants are known for serving high-quality, great-tasting and affordable food. It’s the original HOME OF THE WHOPPER! This location has been an icon in Naperville for over 50 years.

Everyone craves different foods sometimes. I crave Chipotle! The fresh made to order bowls, burritos and tacos hit the spot. Chipotle is committed to sourcing the very best ingredients we can find and preparing them by hand. They understand the connection between how food is raised and prepared, and how it tastes. With every burrito they roll or bowl they fill, they want to cultivate a better world.

Einstein Bros. Bagels Address: 22 Jackson Ave Phone:(630) 416-9888 HOURS: 5:00 AM - 4:00 PM Menu $

Einstein Bros. Bagels is your neighborhood bagel shop. They provide freshly baked bagels, breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, coffee, and catering. It’s a perfect spot to drop in and get a quick bite or coffee. I enjoy their turkey sausage sandwich, smoothie, and Caribou coffee.

Five Guys Address: 22 E. CHICAGO AVE. RIVER SQUARE Phone: 630-355-1850 Hours: 11AM-10PM $$ Menu

Five Guys founder Jerry Murrell's mother always told him, "If you can give a good haircut or if you can serve a good drink at a bar or if you can serve a good hamburger, you can always make money in America." Five Guys has been a Washington, DC area favorite since 1986 when Jerry and Janie Murrell offered sage advice to the four young Murrell brothers: "Start a business or go to college.” The business route won and the Murrell family opened a carry-out burger joint in Arlington Virginia. Under the guidance of Jerry and Janie, the Murrell family served only hand-formed burgers cooked to perfection on a grill along with fresh-cut fries cooked in pure peanut oil. They have hot dogs, burgers, and sandwiches cooked to order with your choice of toppings. Don’t forget the fries and milkshake.

Jimmy Johns Address: 19 W. JEFFERSON AVENUE Phone: 630-355-9411 Hours: 10:30 AM - 9 PM Website $

The story of Jimmy John’s begins back in 1982 with a young man finding his way in the world. He graduated from Elgin Academy High School in June of 1982. He graduated second to last in his high school class, so his options for college were slim to none. By August of 1982, he had four sandwiches for his menu. By 2002, Jimmy John's had grown to 160 locations, with many operated by dedicated Jimmy John’s franchise owners. It’s a local favorite that is known for being freaky fast. My favorite is the unsandwich.

Potbelly Sandwich Works Address: 236 S. WASHINGTON ST. Phone:630-579-1234 Hours: 11AM-9PM $ Menu

For those of you who love hot sandwiches in a casual setting, this is a good place. Long before sandwiches were toasted and cookies were on straws, Peter Hastings and his wife owned an antique shop in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. This quirky shop was doing well, but the determined pair knew they could always do better. In 1977, they decided to start serving sandwiches to their curious, collecting customers. As time passed, the little antique shop slowly turned into the neighborhood lunchtime getaway. With lines reaching out the door and around the corner, customers enjoyed toasty warm sandwiches, homemade desserts and even live music in this unique atmosphere. In 1996, entrepreneur Bryant Keil purchased the original shop and set out to spread the Potbelly love across the country, creating shops with the same neighborhood feel as the original. Today, the Potbelly magic continues as a publicly-traded company, with more than 400 neighborhood Potbelly Sandwich Shops across the globe. My favorite is the Flat Bread Turkey Breast Sandwich.

Smoothie King Address: 22 E. CHICAGO AVENUE Phone:630-946-6804 Hours: MON - FRI: 7AM - 10PM SAT: 8AM - 10PM SUN: 10AM - 8PM $ Menu

Every Smoothie is expertly blended with real fruit and fruit juice, nuts or veggies, plus the high-quality proteins, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and more to help you reach your goals. They are committed to blending a more nutritious Smoothie — one without artificial preservatives, flavors, colors or any of the ingredients on their “No No List.” Our favorite is the Berry Punch.

10 Best Ethnic Food Restaurants in Downtown Naperville

We have a varied taste with an appreciation for foods from different cultures. After study-abroads, various trips through Europe and living 5 years in Japan, we developed an appreciation for foods from many cultures. We love going to restaurants with atmosphere and flavors that transport us to another time and place. The list below is our top spots for Ethnic Food in Downtown Naperville so far. Feel free to add your suggestions. 10. Green Basil     Vietnamese  Basil's authentic Vietnamese cuisine is delicious. This quaint restaurant is tucked away in east of Main Street with plenty of parking. The Pho Ga, chicken soup with bean sprouts and the Bun Bo Xao are favorites. This isn't the flashiest, but a great place to go for a nice lunch or dinner. Menu 9. Q-BBQ Southern-Style BBQ BBQ may be stretching the "ethnic food" category, but authentic southern style BBQ isn't always easy to find in the Chicago-land area. This spot features Memphis, Texas and Sou...

Meson Sabika--What to Order at Our Favorite Restaurant

Meson Sabika is one of our favorite restaurants (period.) We love the food, the service, the Sangrias and the setting. Over the years we've had many awesome meals here with friends and family. You need to make a reservation well in advance for this one though. Visit their  Website  &  Menu After much experimenting and countless trips, here is a list of our top 10 favorite plates. This is a ranked list of our favorite plates, but the style of this restaurant is to order a few at a time and see how far you get. So we typically start with some of the lighter plates (olives, cheese, shrimp, etc) and work our way to the heavier plates until we're full. Top 10 Favorite Plates 1. Aceitunas Alinadas--Spanish Olives  You'll get a free sampler of these, but you'll want more. 2. Tostada con Centollo --Alaskan king crab toast points topped with avocado 3. Pipiranna de Buey- -Skirt steak, sautéed onions, and potatoes in a blue cheese sauce 4. Gamas a la Plan...

The Best Thing to Eat at Giordano's of Naperville

When you have friends from out-of-town, it's always fun to make a stop at a traditional Chicago-style Pizza place, and the Giordano's in Downtown Naperville is the perfect spot. Three of our daughter's friends made the 12 hour drive from their homes in Texas and Oklahoma to Naperville so we took a brisk walk to Giordano's. We tried three different pizzas and two salads and after an official vote, we can rank the best Chicago-style pizza and salad to have with out-of-town college students. Salads The Wedge Salad House Salad Tie: We tried two salads and the vote was a tie for the best. (But since I write the review, I'll say that the wedge salad was the best.) 1) Wedge Salad: This is not your traditional 1/4 head of lettuce wedge. It's spears of lettuce with fresh bacon bits and onion shallots. The ranch dressing isn't too over-powering and compliments the ingredients. 2) House Salad: An assortment of lettuce types, including arugula, which I lik...

Last week Naperville foodies joined other bloggers, you-tubers and media for sneak peek at one of Naperville's exciting new restaurants. We enjoyed sampling some of their upcoming specialties and cannot wait for the grand opening near the end of June! About Umai Ajiya UMAI AJIYA   will specialize in Ramens an...

The Best Ice Cream, Gelato and Cookie Dough in Downtown Naperville

Approximately 20 friends of Naperville Foodies joined a walking tour of Naperville’s Ice Cream and Gelato spots. The tour brought us to the conclusion that Downtown Naperville definitely has its share of great dessert shops. Below is a list of some the group favorites and our recommendations that any ice cream or gelato lover shouldn't miss. MIDICI In addition to great Neapolitan pizza and calzones, MidiCi offers real “Italian Ice” (Gelato.) The flavors are authentic and nicely cap off a great Italian meal. But if you still have a little extra room for dessert after your pizza, you really HAVE TO TRY the Nutella Calzone. It's a warm dessert filled with Nutella and fresh berries, wrapped in the same Neapolitan Pizza crust that makes the pizzas so great. It's then baked for 90 seconds at 900 degrees in the brick ovens. Then it's lightly frosted with powdered sugar and.. drizzled in even more Nutella. It’s really so delicious that it’s hard to describe and a mu...

Phone: (630) 362-6872 Website  |  Menu Hours    M-Th 11am-12am, F-S 11a, - 2am, Sun 11am-10pm $$ A new restaurant opened on Washington St. during the pandemic - Hizemans. They describe themselves as an elevated sports bar with the  biggest & best TVs in the area, giant wings, & great food. Walking in we were impressed with that atmosphere and friendly wait staff. We would recommend it as a great place to watch a game and hang out with friends.  Our server recommended the wings. They were not traditional wings, but giant wings (like fried chicken) with different sauces - Classic Buffalo • Tangy BBQ • Hizaki Teriyaki • Chili Garlic • Honey Sriracha • Gonzo Sauce (Togarashi.) Of course, we had to try this specialty. He ordered the wings with the classic buffalo, tangy bbq, and honey sriracha sauce. Make sure you have lots of napkins for this yummy, messy dish. We also tried the Hizeman Burger, Bad Goat Sal...
